Driver airlifted after highway rollover
The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a 69 year old man after he rolled his ute on the D'Aguilar Highway near Stony Creek this morning.
It's believed the man lost control in the wet conditions.
The LifeFlight aeromedical crew worked alongside paramedics from the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) to treat the man for multi trauma injuries at the scene.
The 69 year old was then airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a stable condition.
2016-17 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,342 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
LifeFlight is a community-based charity that relies on donations from the public and community support to the LifeFlight Foundation.
