Woman airlifted after suffering 80% burns to her body
A woman in her mid sixties suffered critical burns to 80% of her body on Sunday morning south west of Texas after her dressing gown caught fire.
The Brisbane-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue crew flew directly to the property where local Queensland Ambulance Service crews were tending to the patient.
The clinical team on board helicopter intubated the woman on the scene to assist her breathing before airlifting her to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital burns unit for specialist treatment.
At the time of hand over at the hospital, her condition was critical but stable.
