Snorkeler airlifted from Lady Elliott Island
A woman has been airlifted from Lady Elliott Island after she suffered breathing difficulties while snorkelling today.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was called to the Island at around 12.30pm after the woman was reportedly pulled from the water.
It’s understood she began to encounter difficulties while snorkelling causing her to swallow sea water.
Once on scene, the LifeFlight clinical crew treated the woman nearby to the incident.
She was then flown to Hervey Bay Hospital for further treatment.
She travelled in a stable condition.
