Man airlifted to Brisbane after ute rollover
A male driver injured in a single vehicle smash in the Darling Downs has been transported to a Brisbane hospital by air on board an RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter.
The young adult was driving a ute along Banana Bridge Road when he crashed and rolled near Kogan, west of Dalby at about 1.50pm.
He sustained a suspected spinal injury, requiring a higher level of medical care in Brisbane.
The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked from Toowoomba’s Clive Berghofer CareFlight Centre around 2pm, landing in a clearing by the roadside at 3pm.
CareFlight’s crew, including a Critical Care Doctor and QAS Intensive Care Flight Paramedic, worked with other emergency responders at the scene to assess and treat the patient’s injuries.
He was then carefully loaded onto the rescue helicopter and airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
The young man travelled in a stable condition.
