LifeFlight winches bushwalkers from Mount Barney
Two bushwalkers have been rescued from a cliff face on Mount Barney, about 130km south-west of Brisbane for the second time in two months.
The Toowoomba based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has winched a 54 year old man and 63 year old man off a ridge after they became lost by taking the wrong track while attempting to reach the top of the mountain.
The friends found themselves trapped on the edge of a cliff near the summit at around 2pm this afternoon and used a mobile phone to call the Police for help.
The SES and Police could not reach the men on foot in time due to fading light and an incoming storm.
Both men were winched into the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter in good health and not suffering any injuries.
LifeFlight crews have been told that Police have strongly advised the men not to attempt bushwalking on Mount Barney again.
