Injured quad bike rider airlifted to Brisbane
A man has been airlifted to a Brisbane hospital overnight (Wednesday) by RACQ CareFlight Rescue after being badly injured in a quad bike crash on a property east of Chinchilla.
The man, aged in his 60s, was riding a quad bike with a woman when the pair were thrown off after swerving to avoid colliding with a kangaroo.
The man landed badly, sustaining suspected chest injuries on his right side.
The Toowoomba RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to the scene at about 10pm on Wednesday night.
CareFlight’s medical team assessed and treated the man before he was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
The woman is believed to have only suffered a minor bump to the head.
