Trail bike rider airlifted from rural township
The Bundaberg RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter has flown to the Boyne Valley township of Many Peaks, south of Gladstone, this afternoon following reports of a serious trail bike accident.
It is believed a man in his 50s suffered chest and shoulder injuries as a result of an off-road trail bike accident shortly after 12.00pm.
The man was driven to the centrally located Grand Hotel Many Peaks by a friend, before the CareFlight helicopter was dispatched to airlift the patient out.
With the aid of a local Queensland Ambulance Service paramedic, the CareFlight medical team was able to assess and treat the man at a local school oval.
The patient was then flown to Bundaberg Base Hospital in a stable condition.
This is the second trail bike accident CareFlight crews have attended to in the past 24 hours, following yesterday’s task at Manar Park.
