Toddler airlifted from Fraser Island tourist spot
The Bundaberg RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter has flown an early morning rescue mission to Orchid Beach on Fraser Island this morning, going to the aid of a 2-year-old boy who was suffering the effects of a medical condition.
It is believed the boy’s family were visiting the region from the Sunshine Coast, when he developed symptoms just before dawn.
The helicopter crew were called to fly to the tourist spot at 6am.
CareFlight’s team assessed the patient on-site, before transporting him to Hervey Bay Hospital for treatment.
The boy was accompanied by his mother, and was transported in a stable condition.
