Snake bite victim becomes CareFlightís third airlift today
A French backpacker who was bitten by a snake in Gayndah was airlifted this afternoon by the RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter.
It was the Bundaberg-based rescue teamís third mission of the day.
The CareFlight crew was called in around 1pm this afternoon to fly the woman from Gayndah Hospital to Bundaberg Base Hospital for further treatment.
It is unknown at this stage what type of snake it was. So far this year, CareFlight has airlifted 15 patients suffering snake bites compared to five patients in the same time period last year.
After completing this mission, the CareFlight crew flew a man in his 50s with a cardiac condition from Monto Hospital to Bundaberg Hospital.
Earlier that morning, the same crew airlifted a woman in her 40s after she fell from a horse in Bororen, North of Miriamvale. She suffered some injuries to her leg.
All three patients travelled in a stable condition.
