Mother and son airlifted from Western Downs car crash
The Toowoomba RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a mother and her young son from the scene of a single vehicle accident south-west of Glenmorgan this morning.
It is believed that a woman in her mid-20s and her three children were travelling along a single lane road when the vehicle left the bitumen and rolled onto its side.
The Toowoomba-based helicopter crew was tasked to fly to the scene at 8.15am, where they worked with multiple emergency service crews to attend to the family.
The woman suffered suspected spinal injuries as a result of the crash – her son suffered head injuries.
Both patients were stabilised at the scene, and were flown to Toowoomba Hospital in the care of the CareFlight medical crew.
The cause of the accident is unknown.
