Costa Rican tourist bitten by snake on Fraser
The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter flew to Eurong on Fraser Island at 10pm Wednesday evening to airlift a male in his 20s who suffered a suspected snake bite.
The man, a tourist from Costa Rica who was holidaying on Fraser Island, was bitten on the lower leg. The breed of snake was unknown.
CareFlight’s critical care doctor and intensive flight paramedic treated the man on-scene before flying him to Nambour General Hospital for further treatment.
He travelled in a stable condition.
