CareFlight called to assist at multi-vehicle accident
RACQ CareFlight Rescue’s Sunshine Coast-based helicopter has airlifted a woman in her 50s with multiple trauma injuries following a multi-vehicle accident on the Bruce Highway this afternoon.
It’s believed a vehicle travelling in a north-bound direction crossed the four lane motorway into on-coming south-bound traffic resulting in a collision between at least four vehicles.
The Sunshine Coast rescue crew was tasked to the scene of the accident at Bells Creek shortly before 3pm.
The CareFlight clinical team provided assistance to emergency services at the scene before the helicopter crew airlifted a woman to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
The patient travelled in a critical condition.
