CareFlight airlifts man after suspected snake bite
A man in his 40s has been airlifted to Bundaberg following a suspected snake bite on his lower right leg.
This is the second snake bite incident CareFlight has responded to in November and the fifth patient to be airlifted since late August.
RACQ CareFlight Rescue’s Bundaberg-based helicopter was tasked at 12.30pm to retrieve the man from Monto Hospital.
He was airlifted to Bundaberg Base Hospital for further treatment in a stable condition.
RACQ CareFlight Rescue advise people who suspect they have been bitten by a snake to stay calm, limit movement, apply compression and immediately contact emergency services.
