CareFlight airlifts man after Stanthorpe crash

The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was called in to help a man involved in a serious single-vehicle accident at Stanthorpe this morning.

A car with five occupants failed to negotiate a turn and got airborne, hitting a tree while approximately three metres in the air.

A man in his 20s was airlifted by CareFlight’s Toowoomba-based helicopter from Stanthorpe Hospital to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane at around 2pm today.

He was treated for facial injuries and suspected spinal injuries.

The patient travelled in a serious but stable condition.

The other four occupants of the vehicle were treated on-scene by Queensland Ambulance Service Paramedics.
