CareFlight airlifts critically injured man after single vehicle crash
A male passenger has been severely injured in a single vehicle rollover in the Western Downs region requiring the urgent airlift by an RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter.
The man in his 50s sustained suspected head and spinal injuries after the car swerved to avoid a kangaroo, rolled and hit a tree approximately six kilometres north of Jandowae early this morning.
The man became entrapped in the vehicle before emergency services could extricate him.
The man and two other occupants who suffered minor injuries were treated at the scene by the Queensland Ambulance Service before they were all transported by road to Jandowae Hospital.
The Toowoomba RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to the crash just after 2am to airlift the seriously injured man to Brisbane.
He was picked up from Jandowae Hospital and flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.
