CareFlight Race Day to burst out of the gate this June
Local Sunshine Coast radio celebrities Doc and Ash will host the much-anticipated RACQ CareFlight Sunny Coast Race Day on Saturday, 6 June.
All proceeds from the event will go directly to the local rescue helicopter service.
The Hot 91.1 FM boys will be on hand to oversee the day’s events, which will include a giant raffle, gourmet food and refreshments – and a ‘pamper station’ for the ladies.
This will be the 5th year that CareFlight has hosted its annual race day at the Sunshine Coast Turf Club, and CareFlight North Coast Relationship Manager Angela Miles said that the event always exceeded expectations.
“We’re blessed in south-east Queensland to have absolutely glorious winter days, the envy of everyone else in the country, so we’re really looking to spending the day outdoors in the sunshine,” said Ms Miles.
“The Race Day is by far one of the biggest events on our calendar each year, and to be able to press the flesh with our local sponsors and supporters is really exciting.
“The Sunshine Coast community have always been staunch supporters of CareFlight, and this support is the primary reason we have been able to operate in the region for so long – we couldn’t do it without them.”
Excitingly, the Sunshine Coast RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter will fly in for part of the day, and an off-duty CareFlight crew will be attending as sponsored guests to share fascinating flight stories and answer questions regarding their remarkable lifesaving activities.
There are still limited tickets available, but these are expected to sell fast.
Group and individual tickets are available through www.careflight.org.au/raceday or by contacting Angela Miles directly on (07) 5458 8700.
