Woman injured in crash airlifted by CareFlight
A woman in her 20s injured in a single motor vehicle accident south-west of Maryborough has been airlifted by RACQ CareFlight Rescue.
The woman was driving along a stretch of road at Bauple when she lost control near a bend.
It is believed the car became airborne, crashing into a tree and landing approximately five metres below in an embankment.
The woman became entrapped in her vehicle before emergency services could extricate her.
RACQ CareFlight Rescue’s Sunshine Coast crew responded to the accident with a Critical Care Doctor and Intensive Care Flight Paramedic treating the young woman for suspected pelvic injuries and a fractured leg.
The patient was airlifted to Nambour General Hospital in a stable condition.
One in ten of all RACQ CareFlight Rescue missions are to treat and airlift patients seriously injured in road accidents.
