Two men injured in smash on Warrego Highway

Two men have been airlifted by the RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter service after a two car smash on the Warrego Highway, approximately five kilometres east of Miles.

Both men, who are aged in their fifties, sustained injuries in the accident, which occurred early this morning.

The first patient suffered a suspected head injury and fractured arm, while the second patient has a suspected fractured arm.

Emergency services transported both patients via QAS road ambulance to Miles Hospital.

RACQ CareFlight Rescue was tasked from the Clive Berghofer CareFlight Centre in Toowoomba to Miles Hospital around 6.45am to transfer the men to Toowoomba Base Hospital.

They both travelled in a stable condition.

Last year, RACQ CareFlight Rescue responded to 136 motor vehicle accidents, airlifting seriously injured patients to hospitals across Queensland for immediate specialist care.
