Teenage boy airlifted in serious condition after falling from moving vehicle
A teenage boy has been airlifted by RACQ CareFlight Rescue overnight (Wednesday) after sustaining serious injuries in a motor vehicle accident in the South Burnett region.
The teen is suffering suspected head, shoulder and pelvic injuries after falling off the back of a moving ute on a rural property near Wondai.
RACQ CareFlight Rescue’s Sunshine Coast crew responded to the accident about 9pm last night.
Emergency services transported the patient via QAS road ambulance to Wondai Airport where the Sunshine Coast RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter landed.
CareFlight’s medical crew, including a Critical Care Doctor and Intensive Care Flight Paramedic, treated the young man before transferring him to Nambour General Hospital in a serious condition.
One in five of RACQ CareFlight Rescue missions are to treat and airlift seriously injured people who require immediate specialist care.
