Rider airlifted by CareFlight from Fraser Island
The Bundaberg based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter has flown to the aid of a 25-year-old Gold Coast man who crashed his motorbike on Fraser Island late this afternoon.
The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter landed at Happy Valley where it appeared he had caused significant damage to his shoulder after losing control of his bike and crashing.
The young man was treated at the scene by the intensive care flight paramedic for a suspected dislocated shoulder before being airlifted to Hervey Bay Hospital for further tests.
This is the third airlift of an off-road motorbike accident this weekend after two emergency medical transfer was required for injured riders at two separate motocross parks in Queensland yesterday.
