Octogenarian injured in quad bike rollover
The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter flew to Gympie overnight to airlift a man in his 80s who sustained injuries in a quad bike rollover earlier in the day.
The elderly patient was treated mid-flight by CareFlight’s Paramedic for internal injuries.
He was flown to Nambour General Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The same CareFlight crew also performed two other airlifts overnight, transporting an elderly man from Kingaroy Hospital to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with a cardiac condition and then flying to Murgon to airlift a patient to Toowoomba Base Hospital.
RACQ CareFlight Rescue is a registered charity and relies on the community for more than a third of its funding.
