Man airlifted to hospital from Russell Island
The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter service has airlifted a man from Russell Island after he suffered a suspected fractured arm.
It is understood the man was cutting a piece of plaster when other plaster boards fell and landed on his arm.
The Gold Coast RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to Russell Island, situated between Redland City and North Stradbroke Island, at 10.45am.
CareFlight’s medical team, including a Critical Care Doctor and Flight Intensive Care Paramedic, assessed and treated the patient’s injured arm.
He was flown to the Gold Coast University Hospital for further treatment in a stable condition.
The Gold Coast is one of four RACQ CareFlight Rescue bases servicing Queensland.
