Man airlifted from bulk carrier off Queensland coast
An RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a man from a bulk carrier, approximately 35 nautical miles east of Rainbow Beach.
It is suspected that the man, aged in his 20s, was suffering severe abdominal pain.
The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked on the air medical evacuation around 10.30am today.
The helicopter landed on the ship, with a Critical Care Doctor and Flight Intensive Care Paramedic on-board.
CareFlight’s medical team assessed and treated the patient before flying him to Nambour General Hospital.
He travelled in a stable condition.
