CareFlight airlifts seriously injured woman in two vehicle crash
A woman is in a serious condition after a car and truck collided in the Sunshine Coast hinterland today.
The woman in her forties sustained a suspected head injury in the crash, which happened along a narrow stretch of Moy Pocket Road near Brooloo.
An RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to the accident at 12.50pm, landing in a nearby area on the side of the road within 10 minutes.
The Critical Care Doctor and Flight Intensive Care Paramedic on-board CareFlight’s Sunshine Coast helicopter assessed and treated the woman’s severe injuries.
She was urgently airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for immediate specialist care.
RACQ CareFlight Rescue has airlifted 14 seriously injured or ill patients in five days, including a man who was winched from a cargo ship yesterday after suffering a suspected stroke.
