Brisbane man airlifted after trail bike accident
A Brisbane man has been airlifted by the RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter service after sustaining injuries in a trail bike accident north of Goomeri.
The 19-year-old trail bike rider was riding with a friend on a rocky dirt track along a ridgeline when he fell off onto the ground.
He suffered suspected head and leg injuries in the accident.
The man’s friend alerted emergency authorities, with the Sunshine Coast-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter being tasked to the accident at 3pm.
CareFlight’s helicopter landed in a small clearing approximately 300 metres from the scene.
The Critical Care Doctor and Flight Intensive Care Paramedic on-board the helicopter treated and stabilised the man for flight.
He was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.
