Three newborn babies airlifted in separate weekend rescue missions

Three newborn babies were airlifted in separate neonatal rescue missions over the weekend by the RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter.

On Saturday, the crew was tasked to Tenterfield in northern NSW to airlift a 10 week old baby girl with sepsis. The newborn was taken to the Mater Hospital in a stable condition. A neonatal team from the Mater was on board throughout the airlift.

On Sunday, CareFlight was tasked to Grafton with a neonatal team on board to transport a premature baby born at 36 weeks. The baby girl was suffering respiratory distress and was taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a stable condition.

The third neonatal mission for the weekend saw the crew fly to Chinchilla to airlift a 10 month old baby boy suffering Bronchiolitis. He was airlifted to the Toowoomba Hangar before being road transported to St Vincent's Hospital in Toowoomba.

All three babies travelled in a stable condition.
