Sudanese child airlifted suffering Malaria
The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to Toowoomba Hospital this evening to airlift a young Sudanese child suffering cerebral malaria.
The child had only arrived in Australia yesterday to stay with an uncle after his parents were seriously injured in an accident.
A pediatric team from the Royal Brisbane Hospital was on board at the time of the airlift and the young patient was flown back to the Royal Brisbane Hospital for assessment and ongoing treatment.
The young boy travelled in a stable condition.
