Motorbike rider airlifted at Wyaralong Dam

A motorbike rider has been airlifted after a head-on collision between his bike and a ute at Wyaralong  Dam, 14km north west of Beaudesert.

The Gold Coast-based RACQ CareFlight crew was called to the crash on Beaudesert-Boonah Road shortly before 3.30pm.

RACQ CareFlight Aircrewman Troy Crook said the rider had suffered multi-trauma injuries.

"The helicopter landed near the accident to treat the man for serious injuries and a suspected broken leg," Mr Crook said.


CareFlight’s critical care doctor and flight paramedic treated the injured man and stabilised him before flying him to Prince Alfred Hospital for further treatment.

He remains in a critical condition. 

A passenger in the ute was also injured and treated by QAS paramedic and transferred to hospital by road ambulance. The ute driver was uninjured.

Police are investigating.
