Man shelters from storm, falls down cliff
The RACQ CareFlight rescue helicopter was tasked to Bald Rock late Sunday afternoon, in the Girraween National Park, to airlift a 66 year old male with head injuries.
He had been walking by himself when he tried to shelter from the approaching storm. It is unsure how he fell, but two passing tourists found him and called for assistance.
After negotiating some severe weather our crew prepared to winch our Flight Paramedic down to him where he was accessed and then put in our stretcher basket and winched back into the aircraft.
The patient was airlifted to Toowoomba Base Hospital in a stable condition.
