Left foot severed in farming accident
The RACQ CareFlight rescue helicopter was tasked to Esk Hospital Sunday morning to airlift a male in his forties with a severed left foot.
It’s believed the patient had been mixing grain for feed on a property and had his left foot caught by the auger.
The patient was airlifted to the PA Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
RACQ CareFlight Doctor Jacob Crosdale said the patient had a good chance of having his foot reattached.
"We delivered the patient to the emergency department within a good time frame," Dr Crosdale said.
The patient is currently undergoing surgery.
