CareFlight attends third car crash in 12 hours

At around 9pm last night, the RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter landed at the scene of a crash involving a car and a truck on the Bruce Highway, two kilometres north of the Howard township.

It was the third motor vehicle accident CareFlight has flown to in 12 hours.

Both drivers of each vehicle miraculously walked away from the crash unharmed, despite the car being ripped almost in half.

They did not require airlifting and were instead road transported by QAS Paramedics to Harvey Bay Hospital for observation.

The RACQ CareFlight rescue helicopter attended two other motor vehicle accidents earlier on Tuesday. The first at around 9:30am on the Isis Highway near Biggenden involving a sedan and a truck transporting explosives.

The second, at around 1pm yesterday afternoon, was a head-on collision at Bongaree on Bribie Island’s west coast involving a four-wheel-drive and sedan along First Avenue.
