Community movie night promises to be the best
Get ready to treat yourself to a guilt-free night out at the movies, because a portion of the money spent on tickets will be going to charity!
The Rotary Club of Coolangatta-Tweed Heads is organising a screening of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel on Sunday March 18, with a percentage of ticket sales going towards RACQ CareFlight Rescue.
RACQ CareFlight’s Corinne Brown said CareFlight relied on the generosity of the community to keep its life saving choppers in the sky.
“We welcome everyone to attend this fantastic community event. Its promises to be a lovely afternoon of entertainment and the money raised will provide a helpful boost to our service,” Ms Brown said.
“With each of our life saving missions costing more than $12,500, CareFlight relies heavily on the community, and we really appreciate the loyal support of the Coolangatta Rotary Club.
“There will be a raffle on the day with some excellent prizes up for grabs,” she said.
Tickets to the event are $25.00 per person, which includes admission to the movie plus a beer or wine on arrival and delicious canapés.
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel stars Judi Dench, Bill Nighy and Maggie Smith and tells the tale of British retirees who travel to India to take up residence in what they believe is a newly restored hotel.
The travellers arrive to a hotel less luxurious than its advertisements; the Marigold Hotel nevertheless slowly begins to charm them in unexpected ways.
Movie goers should arrive at 3:00pm (AEDT) for a 4:00pm start at Hoyts Cinemas Tweed City.
Tickets must be pre-purchased.
