Woman airlifted from serious accident

The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a woman in her 30s in a serious condition to Bundaberg Hospital following a single motor vehicle accident on the Bruce Highway.

The crew was tasked to the scene north-west of Bundaberg around 8am after a car with three passengers ran off the road.

It is believed the car ran into a drainage ditch and flipped, trapping the woman inside the vehicle.

This mission is the fourth motor vehicle accident that LifeFlight crews have attended since Monday.

2016-17 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,252 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.

LifeFlight is a community-based charity funded and supported by the LifeFlight Foundation
