Support A Vital Project
The LifeFlight Foundation is proud to support and fund a number of large projects in the effort to deliver the best possible service to the community.
Help play a vital role in bringing a lifesaving project to fruition.
Wall of Heroes - Toowoomba
The LifeFlight Foundation recently received funding from the Federal Government to revamp the Clive Berghofer LifeFlight Centre in Toowoomba and local philanthropist Clive Berghofer matched this funding with a donation of almost $2 million to ensure we could build the facility the South West region needs and deserves.
This is great news, however, the funding we received only covers the infrastructure costs of our new facility so the LifeFlight Foundation needs to urgently raise more than $100,000 to complete the fit-out of the building to make it operational. To make matters more urgent, we have just one year to raise more than $100,000.
To help us reach this goal, supporters in the LifeFlight Family now have a unique opportunity to have their name or business name imprinted forever on our "Wall of Heroes."
You can now purchase a personalised commemorative tile on our “Wall of Heroes” inside the soon-to-be-constructed Clive Berghofer LifeFlight Centre at Toowoomba Airport and help us raise the $100,000 needed to fit-out the new base.
There are a variety of tiles for purchase including; Bronze tile - $250, Silver tile - $500, Gold tile - $1,000. There is also an exciting opportunity to purchase a limited edition $5,000 Diamond Tile that will be double the size and have prominent placement on the "Wall of Heroes".
If you would like to purchase a $250, $500, $1,000 or $5,000 commemorative tile, please fill out the pledge form here and we'll arrange the rest.
The new Clive Berghofer LifeFlight Centre will house the Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue community helicopter and will include on-site accommodation for our hard-working crews for 24/7 operations, a purpose-built workshop for engineering activities, administration and other staff facilities.
Thank you to everyone who has pledged so far. We are making a real difference to the lives’ of thousands of people in Toowoomba and beyond.
Fundraise for Fuel
Fundraise for Fuel
This is your opportunity to be part of a special group of like-minded Queenslanders who support our common goal of raising much-needed funds for special projects.
Lately, we’ve been busier than ever. Our doctors and crews attended to more than 15 critical rescue missions every day in March – that’s 457 ill or injured people airlifted. That’s how many people are given second chances by LifeFlight supporters in a single month!
Your support is vital to our ability to save lives. A donation of just $300 today will fuel one person’s rescue mission and make their lifesaving flight possible.
Of course not everyone can afford this but any contribution to this project is appreciated.
Your donation today is a valuable investment in the health and well being of someone in our community whose life changed in a moment’s notice.
To show you the real impact your donation can have, I wanted to share a story with you about a young man we recently saved, Connor Sharpe.
In September 2015, Wendy Sharpe watched her 15-year-old son Connor suddenly collapse and stop breathing during a rugby league training match.
Connor had suffered a major heart attack at just fifteen years of age, completely out of the blue.
With any cardiac arrest, seconds are critical to survival and Connor’s only chance was a lifesaving aeromedical flight, supported by people just like you.
The Year 12 student doesn’t remember collapsing, nor does he remember the emergency RACQ LifeFlight Rescue flight that saved his life. But it’s a day Connor’s mother Wendy will never forget.
“You don’t realise how precious life is. We had one of the fittest kids. It is unfathomable and unbelievable,” said Wendy.
“He literally died on that football field. I thought we’d lost him.”
You can give other young people their second chance and help fund a flight with a gift today towards fuel. I’m reaching out to you for help as I know you understand the urgency and importance of our work to people like Connor.
Doctors now know Connor was suffering Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy - or an enlarged heart muscle – of which there are no symptoms. Despite the shock of the diagnosis, Connor’s mother Wendy considers Connor one of the lucky ones, and we are thankful we could be there for him on that terrifying day.
“They are angels. Connor wouldn’t be here without them,” said Wendy.
“LifeFlight kept him alive, they probably used every machine they had on the chopper.”
We can’t reach the people who need us without fuel. Your contribution will literally get our helicopter to where it’s needed most. You can save a life today. Remember, donations are fully tax deductible, please donate before June 30 for tax benefits.
We are only as strong as the individuals, like you, who support us. Young Connor is proof that your donations save and change lives.
The need for fuel has never been more urgent. In just one month we treated 457 patients – 22% were suffering a serious trauma, 20% suffered a heart attack, 37% had a medical emergency… the list goes on and the cost of fuel is something you can help us with today.

Project 'Safety First'
Project 'Safety First'
We are counting on your generous donations to help urgently fund vital equipment as part of Project 'Safety First'.
LifeFlight’s engineering team has identified a number of essential items through Project ‘Safety First’ that will enhance and maintain LifeFlight’s 36-year unblemished safety record and ensure the safety and wellbeing of our crews, emergency service personnel, patients and engineers. Project ‘Safety First’ is an investment in the community rescue service quite literally from the ground up. We hope you consider donating to the project and helping us fund these crucial items.
Wear Debris Analysis & Oil condition Kit
Cost: 5 kits ($21,576)
These kits allow LifeFlight engineers to monitor the quality of aircraft oil and detect any dangerous foreign particles. Valuable information is gleaned from the associated oil conditioning checks such as; acidity, viscosity and water content and periodic sampling is not only mandatory, it is an essential cost that ensures the safety of our crew and patients.
Nitro Rig (Brisbane BASE)
The Nitro Rig pumps up the AW139 helicopter tyres and services the landing gear. The Brisbane crew is currently borrowing a Nitro Rig from Brisbane Airport but when the base moves over to Archerfield Airport in the coming months we will need to urgently purchase our own. It is an essential piece of engineering equipment we cannot operate without.
Aircraft Tyre Safety Inflation Cage
This allows the LifeFlight engineers to inflate the aircraft tyres when the tyres are not fitted to an aircraft. It is a far safer practice when completed in a safety cage, eliminating the chance of a tyre explosion and ensuring the safety and well being of our engineers.
E-Flare Kit x 2
The E-flare kit is used out in the field to protect the helicopter, crew, emergency personnel, patient and bystanders. It warns others to keep a safe distance from the helicopter and is an essential safety item the crews cannot land without.
