Mount Isa helicopter completes one of its longest missions

The mission took in excess of eight hours; requiring four stops, two refuels and included 4.7 hours of flying. 

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted the man to Delta Down Station where they were met by the Royal Flying Doctors Service who continued airlifting the man to Mount Isa Hospital. 

He travelled in a stable condition.

2017 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,344 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
