Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash at Mount Mee

The Brisbane local had been riding with a group of people along Woodford-Mount Mee Road when she left the road, collided with a tree and crashed into undergrowth about four metres from the roadside.

She suffered a suspected serious leg injury and possible multi-trauma injuries.

The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was dispatched from the Sunshine Coast base at 11am, landing on the roadside approximately 100 metres from the scene.

Emergency services including Queensland Fire and Rescue, Queensland Ambulance Service, and Queensland Police Service worked at the scene for about 30 minutes to extricate the woman using a pulley system.

The motorcyclist was then loaded into a road ambulance and driven to the nearby CareFlight helicopter.

She was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition.
