The LifeFlight 'MediSim' enables doctors and medical personnel to spend time in a lifelike ‘helicopter environment’, ensuring they are ready to face the real-life challenges of aeromedicine.
The simulator is fitted with an intercom and communications systems along with electrical systems, fully functioning medical oxygen and aircraft lighting that can replicate the operational conditions doctors will encounter out in the field.
The MediSim even generates the loud noise of the helicopter, which can pose a huge communication challenge in the cabin.
The state-of-the-art Medical Training Simulator, believed to be the first of its kind in Australia, was made possible by a $187,000 donation from two extremely generous brothers, John and David Mactaggart of JL Mactaggart Holdings Pty Ltd.
Enrolling for courses at the LifeFlight Training Academy means you will undertake world-class, state-of-the-art training in Brisbane, Queensland’s capital, in a location right next to Brisbane Airport. Your team can fly in, fly out with plenty of local accommodation and a minimal cost of getting around, or, you can take your time to explore Australia’s “New World City”.
Apart from the many attractions within the relaxed, sunny river city of Brisbane, you’ll be 1-2 hours from some of the most beautiful beaches in the Southern Hemisphere. What is Brisbane famous for? Subtropical warmth, relaxation and an easy, friendly pace – within Australia we’re known as the “holiday city”!
I'd like to offer you constructive criticism but I don't really have any. I found the theory & practical components greatly assisted by having knowledgeable, experienced and relaxed instructors. The accommodation was great and the whole Lifeflight team were all very helpful.
It's always outstanding coming to work with the LifeFlight staff. All involved are professional, courteous and approachable. Looking forward to next year.
