Man trapped in wreckage for more than 5 hours

It is believed the 21-year old man’s vehicle rolled down an embankment on the D’Aguilar Highway near Yarraman around midnight last night – but the accident scene wasn’t discovered until early this morning.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics were first on the scene, working to free the man from the wreckage before taking him by road ambulance to Nanango Hospital.
LifeFlight’s Toowoomba-based SGAS helicopter was tasked to airlift the man from Nanango Hospital around 6.50am this morning.
He was treated for multi-trauma injuries and was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane in a serious but stable condition.

The SGAS helicopter rescue crews had a record year in 2016-17, flying 101 missions from the Toowoomba and Roma bases, including lifesaving community missions.
