Man airlifted after Ultra Light ditching Noosa

RACQ CareFlight’s Sunshine Coast crew were activated by AusSar and the QAS just after 7am Sunday morning to reports of an Ultra-Light aircraft that had ditched off the coast of Noosa.

Once on scene the crew were notified that the local Surf Lifesaving patrol had already reached the aircraft in their IRB and released the pilot from his seatbelt and brought him back to shore unconscious. The aircraft landed on Noosa’s beach where the onboard medical team treated the 57 year old male for serious multiple injuries.

After stablising the pilot he was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a critical condition for surgery for his injuries.
