The man was airlifted from Arcadia Valley State School oval, approximately 90km north of Injune after he was treated on the scene by Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics. He was airlifted to Roma Hospital in a stable condition.
This was the sixth mission flown in one month for the LifeFlight Roma-based SGAS helicopter, airlifting five patients from the scene of accidents, and performing one inter-hospital transfer between Taroom and Roma Hospital since early March.
LifeFlight’s Toowoomba-based SGAS helicopter service has also had a busy month, performing five inter-hospital transfers and airlifting two patients from the scene of accidents.
A man in his 50s was airlifted last Monday by the Roma-based helicopter service when his quad bike rolled on top of him at a property west of Roma.
