Man airlifted after being struck by falling tree

It’s believed the man, aged in his twenties, was struck by a large limb of a falling tree.

It reportedly hit him across the shoulders and back, knocking him about five metres across the ground.

The rescue chopper was called into action just before 12:30pm.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics were on scene when the aeromedical crew arrived.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter flew the man, who was in a stable condition, to Bundaberg Hospital, with upper body injuries.
