It’s believed the man, aged in his 50s, was unconscious for up to fifteen minutes.
The rescue helicopter was called to the scene, north-west of Mt Isa, just before 1.30pm.
It landed at a nearby property, where the patient was being cared for.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics and a volunteer firefighter from Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) were also called to the scene.
The QAS Flight Paramedic helped treat the man for serious head injuries.
He was then flown to Mt Isa Hospital, in a stable condition.
