The heroic actions of bystanders helped to save the man’s life.
A member of the public successfully used an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), that he was carrying in his vehicle, to revive the man before paramedics arrived.
LifeFlight’s Roma-based helicopter received the call at 11.40am and airlifted the man from the scene to Roma Hospital, in a stable condition.
Following assessment by doctors, it was decided that the patient needs further tests in Toowoomba.
LifeFlight’s Roma-based SGAS helicopter will now continue on back-to-back missions, airlifting him to Toowoomba Hospital.
He remains in a stable condition.
The 2017-2018 financial year was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,452 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
