French tourist winched after falling six metres

The experienced climber was trekking through thick terrain, often referred to as ‘tiger country’, when he fell six metres, landing on his head.

He was stabilised at the scene and stretcher winched back to the helicopter.

The man was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.
