The pair was travelling north along the highway when the driver, a man aged in his early 70s, lost control of the vehicle. His sedan veered off the road, rolled and come to rest in a ditch.
The Sunshine Coast based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to the scene shortly before 9am.
The helicopter’s flight doctor and intensive care flight paramedic treated the man for a minor head injury. The female passenger, aged in her 60s, suffered only a minor leg injury.
The couple was taken to Kingaroy Hospital by road ambulance for further treatment and the helicopter stood down.
Both were in a stable condition.
