Dramatic rescue off Cape Moreton

The patient was exploring the Champagne pools on Cape Moreton with her friends when she slipped and fell off the rock and landed face down in the water.
During the fall the 83-year-old woman was knocked unconscious and was pulled from the water by her companions who then called emergency services.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter momentarily landed near the rocks to allow both the LifeFlight Critical Care Doctor and Flight Nurse to disembark, before taking flight on a circuit holding pattern around the cape.
Both the Critical Care Doctor and Flight Nurse ran from the beach to treat the injured patient along with a Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Paramedic who arrived at the same time.
The pilots of the AW139 rescue helicopter landed on the beach, the co pilot  assisted the Critical Care Doctor, Flight Nurse and Paramedic in carrying the patient to the aircraft.
The patient was then airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Hospital with suspected head injuries and respiratory issues in a stable condition.
