The Music Muster will feature live country music acts from the likes of the ever-popular Troy Kemp, Georgia Fall and Mark Shay, as well as a car show, entertainment for the kids and a variety of market stalls.
Funds raised on the day will go towards RACQ LifeFlight Rescue, Queensland’s leading aeromedical service which provides rapid response care to critically sick and injured patients in the Toowoomba and South-West regions.
Event organiser, Will Tester, knows his charity of choice is close to the hearts of many Toowoomba residents, many of whom have had the benefit of the lifesaving service.
“People can sometimes forget that we live in a rural area that doesn’t have everything within driving distance, said Will.
“The LifeFlight air and medical crews are on call 24/7 to make sure you receive lifesaving medical treatment when you need it. Anything we can do to help is fine by me.”
Organising the Music Muster has been no small feat, with many local businesses and performers coming together to create a new stage, donate raffle prizes and even plan an impressive fireworks display.
Last calendar year LifeFlight flew 641 missions in the Toowoomba region which made this LifeFlight’s busiest base.
With an average mission costing in excess of $12,500, LifeFlight relies on the support of the community to account for the shortfall in government funding.
Nikki Bloom, LifeFlight’s Community Engagement Officer for South-West said money raised from community events allowed LifeFlight to continue its lifesaving service and to truly be there for everyone in their hour of need.
“Events such as the Music Muster bring the community together and raise vital and much needed funds for our service. We are so appreciative of the continued support we receive from all members of the South-West community,” said Nikki.
The LifeFlight Music Muster and Family Fun Day will take place at Brothers Rugby League Oval, Toowoomba, this Saturday the 8th of April with gates opening at 10am.
Tickets will be available at the gate with adult prices starting at $10 each, teens $5 and kids under 14 free. Family passes will also be available for $25 each.
