Community digs deep to remember Julie

The Bowenville Ladies Auxiliary presented the cheque to RACQ CareFlight in Dalby recently and announced that they will once again be supporting CareFlight at the 2013 Orange Tie Ball in October.

The ball honours the memory of Julie Mead a local resident who was killed in a road accident five years ago.

Her son Cameron survived the crash, and was airlifted by RACQ CareFlight to Brisbane, where he remained in an induced coma for nearly two weeks.

“To honour Julie in such a way is so fitting, and with her favourite colour orange.

“She was deeply loved and respected in the community.”

Her husband Wayne paid tribute to Bowenville at the sell out event on the night, emotionally thanking residents for helping him to raise his two sons in the wake of their mother’s death.

RACQ CareFlight will once again be the beneficiary of the Orange Tie Ball on Saturday 12th of October in Dalby.
