Child receives head injuries from tomahawk

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to retrieve the boy from Cherbourg Hospital and airlifted him to the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital at approximately 3.45pm yesterday afternoon.
He was airlifted in a stable condition.

It is unknown how the accident occurred. 
2016-17 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,252 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
