Cattle auction breeds success for LifeFlight

Over the past two years, the cattle auction has raised over $51,000 for the LifeFlight Foundation, with all money raised going back into the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue community helicopter service.

The cheque donation was presented to Amy Luhrs – the LifeFlight Foundation South-West Community Engagement Officer – in Stanthorpe last Thursday (March 29).

Ms Luhrs said the donation will make a real difference in saving lives, particularly in the south-west community.

“When communities support the LifeFlight Foundation, they’re investing in the lives of their fellow Queenslanders,” she said.

“Thank you to the Stanthorpe Agricultural Society (SAS) for their generous support of the LifeFlight Foundation.

“Rural south-west communities rely on LifeFlight and without the support of organisations like the SAS, our choppers wouldn’t be flying.

“We’re already looking forward to next year’s auction.”

2017 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,344 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
